During the course Game Design, our group developed a concept for a mobile game with the aim to introduce the subject of environmental pollution and potential solutions to a broad target group in a playful way. It was important to us to create cheerful illustrations and animations, retro look inclusive. Storytelling was an essential aspect to our group, as the storyline of the game evolves according to the NPCs individual "lifes". I was responsible for illustrating some of the characters, which can be seen under the video, as well as the level overview, vegetation and outfits of the main character. I really enjoyed working on this project, especially designing the animals, and using a new software: Aseprite. The trailer and the animations were created in team work with my colleague Sarah Molinari.
With this project, we won the Golden Pineapple Award for »best educational game« from FH Joanneum.
